[VIDEO] Lord’s Media Centre: when cricket met BIM

The significance of BIM is being displayed at one of cricket’s most iconic grounds.

Lord’s, known as the home of cricket, is also the location of one of the sport’s most well-known media centres; the sight of it is instantly recognisable to cricket lovers and now, it has combined with BIM.

Since its completion in 1999, requirements for the media centre have changed and its renovation has been possible thanks to BIM.

Unlike when it was constructed, a digital, three-dimensional model of the media centre was created thanks to the latest software tools.

This video shows how the use of BIM has helped to identify how the media centre’s floor area could be increased by 15%, and therefore how this digital process ensured success on this £4 million project.
